Although it's been eight years since the original Bad Boys was released I can't say that I thought the sequel was a bad idea. Maybe it took longer than it should have  but hell anything to see Will Smith and Martin Lawerence onscreen together again. 

Bad Boys 2 is neither terrible nor great. For the action it is worth seeing on the big screen but as a whole this one amounts to a flick good enough to rent once or twice.Some really  funny moments but it is quite obvious that the script is labouring for laughs. Chances are if it ain't funny when Martin Lawerence or Will Smith says it really ain't all that funny to begin with. I'll admit though I laughed my ass off when Martin Lawerence found two rats having sex. I don't care what anybody says "He's straight up piledrivin' her" is the funniest line in the movie.  Bad Boys 2 is much gorier than it's predecessor but I think it worked to the films advantage. I think the gore gave BB2 a grittier tone in some ways than the first movie and helped keep the movie from being a flatout comedy at times. With all of the explosions and whatnot in this film it's not too hard to tell that the film had a mega budget.Well I suppose you'd need one to have Lawerence and Smith in a movie together anyway.
