The 9th Annual Tim Mavety Tribute, Fundraiser for Epilepsy Kingston will held Saturday, March 8 at Brandees Restaurant and Lounge, 178 Ontario St, Kingston with continuous music from 2pm to 2am. Tim Mavety was a local musician and music teacher who touched the lives of everyone he met. His infectious smile is remembered by many. Epilepsy was only too real to him and contributed to his early passing. His many musician friends, Epilepsy Kingston and Brandees together organize a day full of music with the best of Kingston’s bands. Admission is a minimum $5.00 at the door. All money raised at this event goes directly to support Epilepsy Kingston activities in Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. Brandees Restaurant & Lounge will also be donating 10% of all meals purchased throughout the event to Epilepsy Kingston. Epilepsy Kingston is a non-profit organization that provides support for those individuals with and affected by epilepsy, as well as training and education in schools, communities & workplaces. Epilepsy is the second most common neurological disorder, affecting one in a hundred Canadians. Every day in Canada an average of 42 people learn that they have epilepsy. The number of people with epilepsy is greater than the incidence of multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, cystic fibrosis and cerebral palsy combined and doubled. You can help improve the quality of life for those affected by working with us to bring epilepsy out of the shadows and into the light of understanding. Tickets: $5.00 minimum for the day, available at the door.
