Domenica The Luxury Slashes Out With Melodic Rock Ripped with Heavy Riffs And Powerful Vocals

The Luxury is Domenica’s debut album and what a debut album it is. I don’t think that I have ever heard a debut album where so much work has gone into the a finer polished sound on a album. It will be interesting to hear how Domenica sounds live but the album version of the tracks sounds wicked. The vocals throughout the entire album sound fantastic and nicely polished off. There must have been a lot of time spent in the recording studio to get the timing and the sound of the vocals done so nicely, even the backing vocals work really well through out the album. For a Rock/ Alternative album The vocals really give the album and Domenica  a distinct sound. After listening to the album I couldn’t imagine listening to any of the songs with a different singer. There also seems to be an large amount of back ground sounds that have been embedded throughout each track as well. The back ground sounds vary from song to song, I find they really add that extra sound which gives each song a little bit more of a characteristic.

The members of Domenica are Bekki on Lead Vocals and Guitar, Josh Bedry on Guitar, Kurtis Wittmier on Bass Guitar and Steve Hrycyshyn on Drums.

There are thirteen tracks which make up The Luxury, all of the tracks are worth a listen but the tracks which I would say you should pay more attention to then the others are “Porno State Of Mind” not just because of the title, but the hard hitting sound that Domenica keeps pounding at you throughout the tracks, especially the drums in this track. “What Goes Around” is one of the few songs where the vocals are a bit more rawer than in the other tracks more notably the intro of the song, What I  also liked about “What Goes Around,” is the tempo of the track also how the heavy guitar riffs mix with the vocals. The Lead off single from Luxury is “Above Me” the song starts off a little slow however the song carries out a faster tempo and additionally pounds out the heavy riffs that Domenica are a custom to also the vocal arrangement throughout the track has been thoughtfully mastered with the over dubbing of the vocals. One of the tracks in which I was fond of because of the lyrics was “Lady Like Me”, another reason why I was keen on the song was the drums because of  the constant crashing of the cymbals. Domenica saved the title track “The Luxury” for the second last song on the album. As I have mentioned before the reasons why I have a little more favouritism towards a few of the tracks is because of the vocals and guitar and “Luxury” is no different. The riffs are Heavy yet the vocals do not have the rawness as a couple of the other tracks do. The background vocals make up a large sum of the success of this track, I am in favour the muffled sound of the backing vocals. The small guitar solo that is played between a couple of the verses was a nice touch to the song as well.
