It starts off with plenty of promise. The first track "Sweet And Dirty Love" is the kind of swaggering, testosterone driven, fistpumping, anthemic hard rock that we've associated with KISS and Mr.Simmons. 
It's got some rockin slide guitar licks and enough bravado to make any Kiss Army member  smile with glee. But it's all down hill from there. Hey I'm a KISS fan. I love Gene Simmons as much as the next guy if not more but I really don't know what the hell he was thinking on this one. I expected a self indulgent over the top record but not like this. "Sweet And Dirty Love" is the only track on the album that could, should or would even be asscociated with KISS. Even Gene's collaboration with Bob Dylan ("Waiting For The Morning Light") is bloody awful. It comes off sounding like Gene just used lyrics that Dylan wiped his ass with so he could say he wrote something with Dylan.... and why in the hell would Gene Simmons cover The Prodigy's "Firestarter"? Does it make sense to you? I'm lost on that one.

Now I'm not saying Gene should have made an album that sounded just like KISS. There would have been no point. You make a solo album usually to do something different. I understand that. But a Prodigy cover? A bunch of cheesy ballads and electronica tinged pop rock songs? You call this an album. Sounds like an overblown, overwrought, drum looped mess. Sorry Gene, but I just can't recommend this album to anybody. Except for maybe Richard Simmons ...squirrely little Bastard. 

So KISS fans you won't find much of the Gene we know and love on this one. Maybe if the album bombs he'll make Kiss do another album. It's all we can hope for at this point because this one is estineed for the bargain bin of the used record store. Asshole actually pains me to listen to. Wait that came out sounding kinda funny.
