| For
You is a great follow up album to her debut album Decipher. While not only
being able to over empower the listener with her vocals in a couple of
the songs, Gina Kaz plays the piano and is also behind the pen and paper
for the 10 songs on the album.
The
album starts off with the song called "The Conversation". The song starts
off with a mellow tone with Gina's soft voice carrying throughout the song.
This song is a good example of what Gina Kaz is vocally capable of. There
is the soft side of her voice and also hits a few high notes as well. I
find that "The Conversation" sets the tone and mood for the entire album,
with most of the songs following the same format.
"We
Can Take Care Of Each Other" is the third song on the album. This was the
first song that caught my attention as I first started skipping through
the songs. The intro is what caught my attention. It was the guitar picking
at the start of the song was what caught my attention. After about a minute
the song picks up a little bit of speed, then the song slows down to the
tempo as the start of the song, but to finish out the song it finishes
out with the tempo after a minute into the song. If I had to pick my favourite
song on the album this would be the song.
"Strength"
is a song that could have a hidden meaning inside of the song. This song
to me showcases Gina Kaz many talents or her "Strength". She can play the
piano and showcases her vocal talents. Also I find that the song lyrics
are written with thoughtful and meaningful words.
"You
Are Near" appears to be my least favourite song on the album. It is my
least favourite mostly because of the starting of the song. Gina's voice
doesnt fit in with the guitar at the starting of the song. Also throughout
the song Gina's voice doesnt seem to fit in well with the speed of the
background music, her voice also doesnt follow the speed of the flow for
the song. I find that the flow of the album stops for this song but then
picks up after the song is over.
Gina
Kaz's For You has also made an impression on the film industry with the
sampling of a couple of her songs in independent films. For You is a good
sophomore album to follow her debut album Decipher.
