Rocking
for Sarcoma Research Fund
March
2, 2007
March
1st contained many first times for me, my first Rozea show, my first time
moshing, my first time eating food with strangers. It was one of the best
nights of my life.
Team
Fence opened up the evening with a solid set, I got there shortly (no pun
intended) after they started. Next came the last Attison show. Attison
had the crowd moshing and banging their heads. Im sad to see them go. Attison
finished off their set and career on a great high note, and then someone
pulled the fire alarm.
Now
before I go into this next bit, i have to say, Sum Thin Ugly is my favorite
local band. I last saw them at one of their rehersals when i interviewed
them for CKVI Radio.
I never had so much fun, standing in front of the band, singing along with
them (quite out of key), banging my head and throwing devil horns into
the air. Sum Thin Ugly finished thier set with a jam session, featuring
one of Randy's amazing behind the head guitar solos.
Finally
a quick break to cool off outside.
Now
Rozea has finally taken the stage, Tessier is dawning a Sum Thin Ugly t-shirt,
which he looses quickly. The mosh pit for Rozeas set was really intense,
the only downside of that being the seven foot tall jock who dont know
anything aobut mosh pit ettiqute. After about 12 elbows to the head and
one shot to nether regions i decided to move to the left of the stage to
better focus on the preformance. At the end of the night, $1600+ dollars
were raised for cancer. It was a great show, for a great cause.
